After graduating in accounting from the University of New Orleans, Joe began his CPA career with the international accounting firm of Arthur Young, now Ernst and Young. Shortly after that he began the odyssey of owning his own CPA firm. He practiced for 25+ years before retiring and creating his current company, The Wisdom Institute.
Joe’s specialties were income taxes, oil and gas, real estate, and entrepreneurship. He found entrepreneurs to be the most fascinating part of his business. One learns much when working with money as it is the driver that factors into virtually every decision, business and personal. Joe learned that it is impossible to separate a person between their business and personal selves. For instance, there is no such thing as business and/or personal ethics. There is just ethics.
The entrepreneurial traits he found in himself and others drove him into a formal coaching career after retiring as a practicing CPA. The coaching principles he uses were learned from dealing with people for so many years. Joe is most fascinated in helping others bring out the most in themselves, whether that be business or personal. He thrives in a group coaching atmosphere, bringing business owners and CEOs together. In these meetings the participants share their vision, wisdom, and leadership skills in synergistic ways. Unexpected, positive results happen so often based on this format that Joe has coined this happening as “Planned Serendipity.”TM
Joe thrives on and gets his energy from helping and seeing people grow. To learn more about Joe, what he does, how he does it, and how it can benefit you, go to www.JoeLiss.com
