Gregory “Greg” N. Rattler, Jr. is an Advisor at trepwise where he leads and provides strategic support across a variety of engagements. At trepwise and beyond, Greg works to effect positive change through community-based programming, education, research, and strategic partnership development for effective service-delivery. He is driven to work on efforts that affect the planning, implementation, and evaluation of initiatives that elevate the expertise of community and improve the quality of life, health, and education for the Greater New Orleans Community.
In addition to his work at trepwise, Greg serves the City of New Orleans as the CEO / Executive Director of The Silverback Society, Inc., as well as maintaining his role as an active member and lead mentor with the Silverback Society at Robert Moton Elementary School. Before his work at The Silverback Society, Greg served as the Program Director at CeaseFire New Orleans, Program Officer for Black Male Engagement at the Foundation for the MidSouth, Director of the New Orleans Fatherhood Consortium, and Co-Founder of the 44th Education Initiative. His personal and professional focus is on the plight of Black men and the Black male identity, community health and wellness, innovative strategies for success in education, and healthy youth development.
Mr. Rattler is a native son of New Orleans, Louisiana. After graduating from St. Augustine High School (2000), he earned degrees from Howard University (BS – Biology, 2004) and Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine (MPH – Community Health Sciences, 2006). In 2014, Gregory was selected as a member of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation Community Leadership Network Fellowship (New Orleans).
Greg spends his free time in service of people and institutions that he believes in. He is a proud member of the St. Augustine High School Alumni Association, the Howard University Alumni Association, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, and the Incorporated New Orleans Alumni Chapter. He is Board Chair of Brothers Empowered to Teach (BE2T) and is an engaged Football Official with the Greater New Orleans Football Officials Association.
