As Chief Operating Officer at Trepwise, Geoffrey Hamlyn provides senior oversight over all client engagements and client-facing team members and oversees operational elements of the firm.
Geoffrey Hamlyn is Chief Operating Officer and a Senior Advisor at Trepwise, where he provides oversight over client engagements and manages the operational and business development functions of the firm. Geoffrey brings fifteen years of experience managing and consulting for nonprofits, businesses, and government agencies at the local, state, and federal level. At Trepwise, he has led or advised dozens of engagements and brings expertise around systems change and coordination, nonprofit governance, strategic planning, public policy, and stakeholder engagement.
Prior to joining the Trepwise team, Geoffrey cultivated a diverse career as a consultant, nonprofit leader, public policy expert, and performing artist. As a Senior Consultant at Deloitte, Geoffrey worked closely with a large federal agency to implement a multi-year technology transformation impacting over 200 million US taxpayers. Prior to that time, he served as Executive Director for a 501c3 nonprofit with a mission of supporting youth organizations in Haiti. During his tenure, he successfully scaled operations and secured funding to fully rebuild two earthquake ravaged facilities. His policy research has focused on inter-system coordination for patients with complex behavioral health challenges and accessibility and barriers to patient care. Also an accomplished violist, Geoffrey trained in New York City with renowned pedagogue Heidi Castleman and maintains an active performing career with orchestras and chamber music ensembles.
Geoffrey holds a Masters in Public Policy degree from Duke University, with a concentration in health policy, a Masters in Viola Performance degree from the Juilliard School, and an undergraduate from UT Austin. He has been extensively published in peer reviewed and general management publications. A resident of Portland, Oregon, Geoffrey is actively involved in his community, including service on community boards, as a volunteer in community orchestras, and as a performer with the Vancouver Symphony and Orchestra Nova Northwest. When he’s not working, performing, or enjoying Portland’s world-class food scene, he can be found taking in the great outdoors with his beloved collie dog, Leia, and family.
