New ORLEANS VISION 2035

Overview

2035 VISION FOR NEW ORLEANS

In 2023, New Orleans & Company performed a retrospective assessment on forces supporting and hindering the community’s potential as a destination. While many factors make the region great, the research underscored the insight that: Forces that hinder visitation and economic success are the same forces that hinder resident quality of life.

Out of the assessment, leadership recognized that developing a coordinated and inclusive plan to improve quality of life for the Greater New Orleans Region was necessary. In 2024, a Steering Committee was formed to guide the planning process. This committee includes representatives from New Orleans & Co., GNO Inc., Urban League, GNOF, JEDCO, and the New Orleans Chamber.

We know there is great work in action throughout the city and are committed to learning how the plan can support that work through an inclusive and participatory planning process that reflects the wide diversity of perspectives in New Orleans.
