Clarifying Vision and Strengthening Capacity to Drive Sustainable Growth

Puentes is a community-based nonprofit dedicated to empowering Latino youth by providing them with opportunities to thrive through education and leadership development. In 2021, the organization engaged Trepwise during a moment of transition to clarify its vision, strengthen its infrastructure, and chart a path for future growth.

Trepwise facilitated a collaborative planning process that engaged board members, staff, partners, and youth participants. Together, we redefined the organization’s programmatic focus, introduced strategies to embed youth voice in governance, and developed a roadmap to support leadership development, operational sustainability, and deeper community partnerships.

Results

Since completing the engagement, Puentes has hired a new Executive Director, brought on full-time director-level staff, expanded from one to four revenue-generating school partnerships, added two additional programs, and strengthened its reputation and relationships across the ecosystem. With a clear strategic direction and renewed internal capacity, Puentes is now well-positioned for continued impact and growth as it sets out for its 2025 strategic planning process, also led by Trepwise.
