Solution
Our work began with an expansiveplan development phase that built upon community conversations and was driven by cross-sector working groups comprised of dozens of system leaders, advocates, youth, and parents. This highly collaborative and youth-centered process included managing five concurrent working groups, incorporating insight from multiple advisory bodies, and engaging subject matter experts in plan design.
In phase two of the project, we worked across six sectors — including Health & Wellbeing, Safety & Justice, Education, Space & Place, Economic Stability, and Youth Voice — to define outcomes and develop implementation action plans to be owned by key institutional actors across the city.
Results
The plan has been endorsed by the Mayor, the City Council, and other system leaders, and is in year two of implementation. Hundreds of organizations and young people have been engaged on an ongoing basis, and all of the initial solutions are in the process of implementation.
