Establishing Long-Term Direction after Programmatic Growth
The New Orleans Career Center (NOCC) prepares young people and adults for high-wage, high-demand careers, equipping them with skills, networks, and opportunities to thrive. Through hands-on training, wraparound support, and industry partnerships, NOCC ensures every graduate can shape their future and contribute to New Orleans’ economic vitality. Following a period of rapid growth where the organization doubled its enrollment while expanding its breadth of pathways and offerings, NOCC partnered with Trepwise to establish a roadmap for the next five years.

Solution
NOCC’s strong operational and programmatic footprint meant the plan could focus on longer term considerations related to financial sustainability, NOCC’s role in the ecosystem, and effectively communicating impact. In partnership with a Steering Committee of Board and staff the Trepwise team conducted extensive stakeholder engagement, resulting in a plan that reflected the voices of over 150 stakeholders.
Results
NOCC Board approved a 2030 strategic plan that outlined strategic priorities around building advocacy capacity, connecting training to careers, and generating awareness and engagement. The plan has continued the Career Center’s strong trajectory in redefining workforce development for the region and working towards a future where every NOCC graduate has the power to shape their future and the future of New Orleans.
